Otosan follows Shizu, a curious young girl who hides in her father’s suitcase and winds up joining him on a dangerous journey to the far North. Her father, a no-nonsense wildlife videographer, must confront the challenges of his work and his relationship with his daughter as they confront grizzly bears, white wolves and snowy owls. The story explores love, communication, and the bonds that unite families. Inspired by co-creator Shizuka Kai’s real-life experiences with her father, Otosan is a beautifully narrated tale that uses stunning puppetry, actual wildlife projections, and original music to take the audience on an immersive adventure.
