Event Notes
It's about connections. This is a first annual youth-led 'arts inspired' fundraiser for child & youth mental health & substance use.
The first half of the evening features visual art and performances by youth that represent the courage and resiliency of young people in our communities living with these challenging issues. Performances by Lamondance | Studio One Dance Center | Brenna Parker | Street Kings Dance | Estella Mainella | Madison Yaremchuck | Sierra Van Straaten | and more!
The evening will continue with Canada's premier screening of 'Broken Places', a documentary that highlights resilience in connection with childhood adversity.
Running time is approximately 3 hours, including intermission. The performance portion (approximately 1 hour 15 minutes) is family friendly for ages 10 and up.
Presented by the Surrey-North Delta Local Action Team (LAT). The goal of our LAT is to change the culture in which children are raised, to give youth a voice and to help them feel like we truly care about their well-being. We pursue these goals via hosting free community events. Our hope is to continue to be able to host these events through fundraisers like this.
