Come join Himig Kabataan Cultural Society for their second annual year-end concert! Enjoy an afternoon of song and dance written and choreographed by Filipino artists, as this love letter to the Philippines takes you through its history through the eyes of music. This concert features performances from HKCS’ beloved youth choir, instrumental ensemble, and dance squad, which makes its debut.

Himig Kabataan Cultural Society (HKCS) is a Filipino-Canadian youth collective, home to Western Canada's first Filipino youth choir. Based in Surrey, British Columbia, HKCS welcomes teenage and young adult members of Filipino ethnic background to experience fellowship and share a passion for choral music, visual arts, and dance. The choir rehearses and performs repertoire composed by Filipino artists in English, Tagalog, and other Filipino dialects. HKCS focuses on learning culture and language through the art of music, as it is a fantastic way for Filipino youth to reconnect with their cultural identity.

This concert is suitable for all ages. Running time is approximately 2 hours and 30 minutes, including a 15-minute intermission.
