Come join Himig Kabataan Cultural Society for their first headliner concert! Enjoy an afternoon of song and dance written and choreographed by Filipino artists, as this love letter to the Philippines takes you through the beauty of its three major geographical regions. This concert features a wide range of choral arrangements, from traditional folk songs to classic Manila Sound hits.

Himig Kabataan Cultural Society (HKCS) is Metro Vancouver’s first Filipino youth choir. Based in Surrey, British Columbia, HKCS welcomes teenage and young adult members of Filipino ethnic background to experience fellowship and share a passion for choral music. They rehearse and perform repertoire composed by Filipino artists in English, Tagalog, and other Filipino dialects. They focus on learning culture and language through the art of choral music, as it is a fantastic way for Filipino youth to reconnect with their cultural identity.

This concert is suitable for all ages. Running time is approximately 2 hours and 30 minutes, including a 15-minute intermission.
