CLASSICAL MUSIC SUMMER SAMPLER

Enjoy an evening of contemporary and classical music from two of the finest music ensembles the Lower Mainland has to offer. This delightful evening taking place in the picturesque Glades Gardens begins with the Surrey City Orchestra string quintet, who will present classical favourites, including highlights from Vivaldi’s Four Seasons, along with summer inspired crowd pleasers such as “Libertango” and “La Bamba”. The SCO string quintet features musicians that have performed all over the world, and on the Lower Mainland’s biggest stages. The group will be led by violinist, Calvin Dyck, who will guide the audience through this musical voyage!

This lovely outdoor concert will also feature the British Columbia Chinese Music Ensemble (BCCME) who will take the audience on a music journey through China. Audience members will enjoy traditional Chinese music from different regions or provinces in China. Hear music from North, South, East, and West…a true musical map of China! The repertoire chosen for this evening was specially selected so that fans of Chinese music and newcomers to the genre can travel through time and space through the magic of music.
